Bronze-die Gragnano paccheri or scialatielli tossed with sweet cherry tomatoes and clams, slow-simmered Sunday Neapolitan ragù, or hearty pasta e patate molten with smoked provola cheese in inland hill towns (€8–€13). In southern Italy's sun-drenched climate around Procida, kitchens rely on cold-pressed extra-virgin olive oil, durum-wheat semolina pasta, wild oregano, capers, and wood-fired bread ovens.

Wood-fired pizza folded a portafoglio on the street (€4–€6), crispy fried seafood cones (cuoppo di mare) and potato croquettes (panzarotti) from neighborhood friggitorie, or grilled swordfish and lemon-baked sea bream in coastal coves (€12–€18).

Fresh braided buffalo mozzarella and cow's milk fior di latte, sweet San Marzano tomatoes, flaky sfogliatella riccia and rum-soaked babà pastries, crusty cafone sourdough bread, and volcanic Falanghina, Greco di Tufo, or Aglianico table wines.

Espresso is served short, piping hot, and often in a pre-warmed cup after a glass of water (€1.20 standing). Families stroll the main corso during the evening passeggiata before sitting down at 8:30 PM at neighborhood pizzerias and rustic inland trattorie. In a town the size of Procida (pop. 10,481), expect a central bar-caffè, a local panificio/alimentari, and a few family-run trattorie or pizzerie serving Napoli residents (check hours ahead, as small-town kitchens often close one or two weekdays).
